A Bluffton woman was killed in a two-car wreck in Bibb County, Ga., late Thursday on Interstate 16, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said Friday that both vehicles were headed west when the accident happened near Ocmulgee East Industrial Boulevard just before 7:15 p.m.

Laurie Bowers, 37, of Bluffton was trapped in her Honda following the wreck with a Jeep Wrangler and died at the scene, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said Friday.

The Bibb County District Attorney's Office has called for an autopsy. The cause of the crash remained under investigation Friday, according to Bibb County Lt. Sean DeFoe.

Both 19-year-old men in the Jeep -- Thomas Tyler Duncan of Locust Grove, Ga., and Spencer Rush of McDonough, Ga. -- were injured and taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Duncan, who was driving, was stable but in critical condition Friday; Rush was in stable condition, according to a Bibb County Sheriff's Office new release.
