Israeli policy expert to lecture at Sun City

Mordechai Kedar, director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Islam, will speak Thursday at Sun City Hilton Head's Magnolia Hall.

The lecture, "Islamic Radicalism -- Causes, Ideology and Ways to Face It," begins at 9:30 a.m.

Kedar is an Israeli academic who served 25 years with Israel's Military Intelligence Directorate, where he specialized in Islamic groups, the political discourse of Arab countries, the Arabic press and mass media, and the Syrian domestic arena, according to an online biography.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees from outside Sun City can receive a pass on the day of the event at the U.S. 278 entrance to the community.
