Travis Sims

A 27-year-old Beaufort man was arrested Monday after allegedly stealing metal seats from a Hilton Head Island movie theater, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Travis Sims is accused of taking the seats, worth a total $2,000, from Northridge Cinema 10 on William Hilton Parkway while the theater was under renovation, Sgt. Robin McIntosh said. He then sold the items for scrap metal, she said.

Sims was charged with grand larceny and released from the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond, according to the jail log.
