The death of a Port Royal beauty supply store owner has been ruled a homicide after an autopsy revealed he died of a brain injury caused by blunt force to the head, according to a Port Royal Police Department news release.

Aboulhassan Aboulhassan, 48, was found at about 10 a.m. Monday behind the register of his Ribaut Road store, AN Beauty Supply. He was unconscious and bleeding from a head injury, according to the police.

Aboulhassan was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, then to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he died, police said.

Investigators await further autopsy details and did not know Friday what type of object caused Aboulhassan's injury. The release reported no suspects or motives.
