A Beaufort man, accused of exposing himself to a woman Wednesday in a Hilton Head Island office, was seeking help because he is addicted to fondling himself, according to a news release from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The 40-year-old man walked into the Memory Matters office on William Hilton Parkway at about 12:30 p.m., saying he was seeking help for his addiction. When an employee returned to the waiting area to help the man, she found he had unzipped his pants and exposed himself, the release said.

He was charged with indecent exposure and taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center, with bond set at $25,000.
