Marijuana poses risks that cigarettes do not

info@islandpacket.comJanuary 23, 2014

What am I missing? It's now a capital crime to smoke a cigarette in this country, a campaign led by our nanny state government. But this same government is promoting smoking pot. Pot is unfiltered and grown who knows where? What about it offending me? What about me inhaling second-hand smoke? What about the lung cancer it will cause?

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, pot smoking is more dangerous than smoking cigarettes. The tar in joints contains a much higher concentration of the chemicals linked to lung cancer compared with tobacco tar. Smoking pot deposits four times more tar in the lungs than smoking the same amount of tobacco.

Am I the only one who sees the hypocrisy in this?
