The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force in Pooler and the Imperial War Museum Duxford, near Cambridge, England, are accepting applications from middle and high school history teachers in South Carolina and Georgia to attend the American Air Museum Summer Residency program.

The program is a professional development opportunity run my the Imperial War Museum. Teachers from the U.S. and UK will share ideas and practices in the two-week program at a World War II airfield. Participants will travel to Duxford and take part in tours and special lectures at the museum that focus on the air war and importance of technology. They will create learning activities and materials to take back to their classrooms. Participation in the residency is subsidized; the majority of expenses are included.

Applicants should submit a resume, short statement outlining their interest and a letter of support from a principal or head of their department by Jan. 30. Details: www.projects.americanairmuseum.com or Heather Thies, education@mightyeighth.org
