Kind act by a stranger did not go unnoticed

As my husband and I were pulling up to the traffic light at the corner of Sams Point Road and Sea Island Parkway on Monday morning, we noticed a lady in the middle of the road. She had what looked like a paper towel in her hand. She went over to the middle of the two lanes and picked up a lifeless cat and gently placed it in the grass beside the road. She then went back into traffic (which was stopped for a red light) and picked up two lifeless kittens and placed them with the other cat.

I would like to thank her for her act of kindness. She kept these cats from being run over and over and smeared over the road.

I realize that sometimes our pets and strays run out into the road in front of our cars, and accidents cannot be avoided. But please, if you hit an animal, stop and check to see if you can do anything to help it. And if it is deceased, move it gently out of the road.

I wish I knew who this lady was so that I could thank her personally -- but maybe she will see this and know that someone noticed her act of kindness.
