SC YACHT CLUB WINS PTI LEAGUE TITLE

The South Carolina Yacht Club recently won the title of the 12-team PTI Adult Team Tennis League. Members of the winning team were: Andrew Hazel, Justin Perry, Todd Pierce, Andy Reed, Nick Inman, Nick Castricone, Todd Saylor, Amity Perry, Christa Conley, Yza Shady, Ann Marie, Tracy Castricone and Kelly Stroud.

SUN CITY SOFTBALL TEAM WINS 2 IN SAVANNAH

The Sun City Travel Softball team faced a Savannah city league team and the Third Infantry Division-Aviation Brigade recently at Hunter Army Air base, winning both games.

Sun City defeated the local Savannah team 19-6 in a five-inning game. Craig Waite, Don Feldkamp and Dennis Jackson combined to go 9 for 9, while Ken Abshier, Dean Waters and Dean Baker had two hits apiece.

In the second game, Sun City won 22-21 with a last-inning rally. A three-run home run from Spec 5 Anthony Desender and a solo shot from Specialist Jose Candelario gave the Third Infantry team a six-run lead going into the last inning.

Pinch-hitter Lou Fasano delivered the game-winning hit to score Waite, who went 8 for 8 on the day. Waite and Ken Abshier led the team with three RBIs apiece. Dean Waters, Doug Baker, Dennis Jackson, Tom DaParma each contributed 2 RBIs apiece.

Bob Lee pitched both wins for the Sun City Travel team, which competes in the ISSA Tournament of Champions this week in Tampa, Fla.
