Bluffton firefighters to get new equipment

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation will donate more than $19,900 worth of equipment to the Bluffton Township Fire District.

The foundation will present thermal imaging cameras and accessories at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Firehouse Subs Restaurant, 32 Malphrus Road in Bluffton.

The donated cameras will detect body heat and hot spots in burning buildings, allowing firefighters to reach victims quicker and put out deadly fires, a news release said.
