The Jasper County Sheriff's Office has identified a person of interest in the death of a Ridgeland man found in a yard Jan. 3, Maj. Donald Hipp said Wednesday.

Deputies will meet with the 14th Circuit Solicitor's Office today to discuss the case and determine whether the Sheriff's Office has enough evidence to bring charges against the individual, Hipp said.

Kenneth Chisolm, 48, of Orange Grove Road was found in a yard on Mitchellville Road. He was pronounced dead when he arrived at a hospital.

Deputies began investigating the case as a homicide after an autopsy revealed Chisolm had a broken neck.

Hipp declined to name the person of interest but said the evidence against the individual is circumstantial, not physical.
