Banquet, speakers to mark Martin Luther King Day on Jan. 18 in Bluffton

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee is sponsoring a banquet at 6 p.m. Jan. 18 at Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church, 25 Boundary St., Bluffton. LTC Louis L. Mitchell, a native of Charleston and the division enginner for the 10th Department of Transportation, will be the speaker. The Campbell Chapel dance team, Jabari Gordon and Patrick Treacy III will appear. There will be numerous door prizes. All are welcome to attend. There will be a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Jan 20 at the Theodore Washington Municipal Building, followed by a march through downtown Bluffton. A cook-out will then follow.
