Saving few seconds not a major news story

info@islandpacket.comJanuary 11, 2014

I read your front-page article on Jan. 9, with a photo, on the increased speed limit on S.C. 170 between the Broad River Bridge and Snake Road in Chelsea.

I am not much of a mathematician, but as closely as I can calculate without resorting to pencil and paper or other artificial aids, the time saved by traveling 60 mph instead of 55 mph over that 5-mile stretch is about 30 seconds.

There are places where this would not be front-page news.
