Locals Fickes, Orischak, Crowe highlight field for 2014 Junior Heritage

Clemson-bound Josh Fickes, of Beaufort, and Hilton Head Island's Andrew Orischak are among the locals in the field for the 23rd Sea Pines Junior Heritage.

The tournament, which is back after a sabbatical in 2013, will be held Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 on Sea Pines' Ocean Course and Harbour Town Golf Links.

The field has 78 players committed. The final field of 84 players will include players from fourteen states and eight countries.

Benjamin Griffin, the boys runner-up in 2012, and Clementina Rodriguez, the girls runner-up, are back.

Matt Cheng, Sawyer Shaw, Joshua Martin and Aaron Terrazas are all retuning on the boys side after finishing in the top 10 in 2012. Bryana Nguyan, Sierra Brooks and Ana Ruiz are back after finishing among the top-10 girls in 2012.

Chase Koepka, the 2012 boys champion, now plays golf at South Florida. Ashlan Ramsey, the 2012 girls champion, is a freshman at Clemson.

The S.C. Junior Golf Association Players of the Year -- Bluffton's Trace Crowe and Summerville's Reona Hirai are committed. The 2011 players of the year -- Matt Nesmith and McKenzie Talbert -- swept the titles in 2011.
