Beaufort County Historical Society to dedicate historical marker at Beth Israel

The Beaufort County Historical Society will dedicate a historical marker at the Beth Israel Synagogue at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 12.

Beth Israel Synagogue was chartered on Oct. 16, 1905 and dedicated on June 14, 1908. Descendants of the original officers and members of the synagogue are still living in the area and are members.

The dedication is open to the public. Beth Israel is located at 401 Scott St., Beaufort.
