The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect in connection with an armed robbery Sunday night at a convenience store in Burton.

Shortly before 10 p.m., the suspect entered Sunhouse Petroleum at 3448 Trask Parkway and asked the clerk for cigarettes, according to a Sheriff's Office report.

When the clerk turned around, the suspect placed a revolver to her back and told her not to scream.

He took an undisclosed amount of cash from the registers and ran toward Roseida Road, the report said.

The suspect was described as black, 25 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches and 170 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black New York Yankees baseball cap, according to a news release.
