Recycle electronics, shred documents at county event

Beaufort County is holding an electronics recycling and document-shredding event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 18.

Residents can bring their broken computers, televisions and other electronic items for recycling at the Public Works North site at 140 Shanklin Road near Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, or the Public Works South site at 9 Benton Field Road off Burnt Church Road in Bluffton. Shredding of personal and tax documents will also be provided at no charge.

State law prohibits dumping electronics in a landfill or at county convenience centers.
