Main Street wrong for proposed rehab center

info@islandpacket.comJanuary 4, 2014

The town of Hilton Head Island should not permit a rehab center at the site of the Main Street Inn. Such a facility does not belong on Main Street close to schools, churches and village activity.

Instead, the town should consider giving the inn a reason to refurbish and add a larger restaurant and parking. The owners could improve their operation by enticing a good restaurant to their facility.

The investors who are interested in establishing a rehab facility on Hilton Head Island should purchase a spot closer to the hospital. They could then build modern facilities and include a rehab center in a medical facility area.
