The LPGA Girls Golf Club of Bluffton will kick off their 2014 season with a free open house for to all girls, ages 7 to 17, who are interested in the game of golf.
The open house, to be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 12 at Rose Hill Golf Club, will expose the girls to golf instruction and allow them to meet many of the professionals that will be working with the girls during the six-months of sessions.
The program is directed by Jean Harris and Krista Dunton, both named Top 50 Women Golf Instructors by Golf Digest Magazine. They will be assisted by top LPGA and PGA professionals in the area.
LPGA Girls Golf allows girls to learn how to play golf using SNAG (Starting New at Golf) equipment or expand on their existing skills using traditional equipment. All girls will work on their motor skill development needed for golf and other sports activities.
The fee for the six-month session is $75 and scholarships are available based on need.
Equipment will be provided for those who don't have golf clubs. Sessions will be held at various sites including Rose Hill, Belfair, Colleton River, and Sun City.
