Firefighters and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to the St. Helena library Thursday after a rental truck scraped the top of the drive-through book return area, breaking a sprinkler and causing minor damage to the overhang. Water spewed from the broken sprinkler until it was shut off, Lady’s Island-St. Helena Fire District spokesman Lee Levesque said. He was unable to provide an estimated cost of the damage.
