Neil Jansen's work is featured in "Naive"

The Beaufort Art Association Gallery presents "Naive," an exhibit of mixed media paintings by Bluffton resident Neil Jansen. The exhibit will open Jan. 6 and runs through Feb. 15. The opening reception will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 10 at the gallery, 913 Bay St., Beaufort.

Jansen's work varies and includes Berkshire farm scenes, floral studies, and farm and domestic animals, including cat portraits. Jansen studied at the Pratt Institute and is a graduate of Ringling College of Art in Sarasota, Fla. He has served in the military, and in his free time offered painting classes to soldiers. He had a 25-year career on Madison Avenue developing promotional campaigns for leading distillers. Jansen is an active member of the Beaufort Art Association and is a creative consultant for department stores including Bloomingdales, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue.
