County taxes heading to NC

info@islandpacket.comJanuary 2, 2014

I sent my property tax check to the Beaufort County Treasurer on Dec. 24. To my surprise, I noticed that the mailing address was a P.O. box in Charlotte, N.C.

I was wondering if Santa, with his faithful reindeer and Rudolph in the lead, could deliver our tax bills to South Carolina where they should have gone in the first place. Why would Beaufort County taxes be sent to North Carolina? I guess only Santa can answer that question. Ho, Ho, Ho.
