Expect more of same in midterm election year

info@islandpacket.comJanuary 2, 2014

The Dec. 27 edition of the newspaper is a fountain of inspiration for 2014 predictions.

First, S.C. Democratic leadership will continue to politicize anything Gov. Nikki Haley does or says while accusing her of the same: "Everything is about politics with her (Haley)." I must have missed Haley's "politicizing" in her Facebook post. Was it the word, Christmas? From them, I predict more of the same in 2014, given it's time for midterm elections.

Secondly, a letter to the editor was correct in that we don't need to use the Founding Fathers to spread falsehoods about the Obama administration; he, his administration, Democratic congressional leadership and the mainstream media have proven to be quite prolific in spreading falsehoods on their own, thank you very much. From them, I predict more of the same in 2014, given it's time for midterm elections.

Third, Garry Trudeau will continue to invoke current Democratic incendiary rhetoric on Republicans' alleged cluelessness: Jim Crow, the "war on women," and the party of the rich and mean. From him, I predict more of the same in 2014, given it's time for midterm elections.

Lastly, a mention of Kerry Washington reminds one of her earlier statement that she was glad the philandering, law-breaking and possibly murderous president on the "Scandal" television series is Republican. From the entertainment industry, I predict more of the same in 2014, given it's time for midterm elections.

It wouldn't be difficult to make further predictions; after all, I predict more of the same in 2014, given it's time for midterm elections.
