Save your money, don't see Scorsese film

info@islandpacket.comJanuary 1, 2014

I can't remember the last time I walked out of a movie -- but I recently did. Facing 179 minutes of director Martin Scorsese's excess in the "The Wolf of Wall Street," I made it through 35 minutes, then bailed.

Ostensibly a film about a penny stock boiler room operator and his crew, it actually is a perfect metaphor. Like a penny stock, this film is all hype and no substance. Regrettably, a serious societal ill is turned into a cartoon in this bombastic film. Save your pennies. See something else.
