Couple receive help with heating, air bills

info@islandpacket.comDecember 29, 2013

Connie and Matthew live with an adult autistic son.

Connie is 71 and had to stop working because of diabetes and heart problems. Matthew, 73, was still working, but the $1,000 electric bill was more than they could handle.

They discovered that broken ducts caused the high bill, so The Deep Well Project paid for repairs to the ducts and gave the heating and air-conditioning system a tune-up.

Deep Well provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
