Berkeley Hall needs time at light to reflect

info@islandpacket.comDecember 29, 2013

Granted that Beaufort County cannot begin construction on its frontage road proposal due to the legal challenge by Berkeley Hall residents, but it may have another option to bring about resolution.

While a traffic light at the Berkeley Hall entrance is warranted due to Buckwalter Parkway traffic, there is much less activity in and out of Berkeley Hall than Buckwalter.

Adjusting the timing on the traffic signal to allow a green light exiting Berkeley Hall only every four cycles will give its residents some time for reflection.

They might think about the dangers in forcing motorists headed left out of the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church to turn right and then make a U-turn on a busy roadway in order to reach their destination.
