Nominations for the Environmental Awareness Award, which recognizes South Carolinians who are doing extraordinary work on behalf of the environment, will be accepted through Jan. 31

Each year, the public can submit nominations to the awards committee. Candidates should demonstrate innovation and leadership, with their efforts leading to improvements to the environment, according to a news release from the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.

The nomination form can be found online. Details: Vivianne Vejdani at 803-734-4199 or VejdaniV@dnr.sc.gov.

The S.C. General Assembly established the S.C. Environmental Awareness Award in 1992.
