The United Way of the Lowcountry has reached more than $2,100,000, or 91.37 percent, of its fundraising goal of $2.3 million for this year's annual campaign.

The United Way of the Lowcountry soon will be seeking volunteers to serve on various community-investment panels, which review agency applications and programs considered for funding in the 2014-2015 cycle. Those interested should call the Beaufort office at 1-843-982-3040.

Donations to the United Way of the Lowcountry currently help fund programs with 33 local nonprofit organizations that address concerns with education, health, basic needs and income.
