Deep Well

When 90-year-old John and his daughter came to The Deep Well Project last winter, John had just paid $300 out of his Social Security check of $750 a month for his electric bill, and he still owed more than $600.

His family helped some, but his bills were more than he could afford. He also had to pay for expensive prescription medication, and there was no way he could catch up with his electric bills without help.

So Deep Well paid its biggest electric bill of the season.

Deep Well provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
