Cancer group distributes more than $30,000

The Cancer Awareness Foundation in Bluffton distributed more than $30,800 among more than 30 people in need at its Sixth Annual Guardian Angel Christmas Wish Give Away, according to a news release.

The festivities, which took place at the Off Island Thrift Too store, included a musical performance by Christian Young and Zarisa Watkins. Several local restaurants donated food.

The Cancer Awareness Foundation is 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that usually disburses $16,000 to $20,000 each month to local residents who are undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, the release said.
