Beaufort struck by graffiti again

Areas in Beaufort were again tagged by graffiti Tuesday, the second time in less than a week parts of the city were hit, according to the Beaufort Police Department.

Sixteen instances of painted signs and power boxes along Ribaut Road were reported Tuesday, causing about $210 in damage.

Beaufort police also reported 11 instances of graffiti around Craven and Carteret streets Dec. 12. Those incidents, mostly on utility boxes along the streets, caused $4,100 in damages, the report said.

It's not clear if the incidents are related, and suspects have not been identified, according to Cpl. Hope Able. She added that the department's investigation continues.
