Bluffton Self Help getting toys spread farther and wider with help of partners

info@islandpacket.comDecember 18, 2013

Bluffton Self Help receives donations of new, unwrapped toys each Christmas season to give to deserving families in Beaufort, Hampton and Jasper counties.

In the past, the families had to travel to Bluffton to pick up the toys, but some families in Hampton and Jasper counties couldn't afford the trip. So this year, the agency partnered with local service organizations to distribute toys.

Because of this outreach effort, more than 300 additional families with children will have a toy to celebrate the holidays, bringing the total to more than 1,600 children to receive toys from Bluffton Self Help this season.

Bluffton Self Help provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, sick and elderly.
