Inpatient facility doesn't belong on Main Street

info@islandpacket.comDecember 17, 2013

A facility that treats drug and alcohol addiction and some kinds of mental illness, even with voluntary admission, does not seem like a good mix for Main Street considering the close proximity to schools, the Island Recreation Center, Main Street Youth Theatre, day care centers at churches and a number of restaurants and fast-food establishments that cater to young people.

Information regarding how the premises and the patients will be secured might alleviate some of my concerns.
