Shoulder closures will take place this week on westbound U.S. 278 between Buckingham Plantation Drive and the bridges to Hilton Head Island.

Weather permitting, the restrictions are expected from Tuesday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for contractor Cleland Site Prep to clear trees next to the highway for the Bluffton Parkway flyover project.

Drivers should pay attention to construction signs and be aware of the roadside equipment and crews. Delays are expected.
