A Beaufort man was attacked and robbed by two men, one armed with a shotgun, during a home invasion Saturday.

Sheriff's deputies arrived just before 3 a.m. at 129 Paige Point Rd. to find the 56-year-old victim had been punched in the face and robbed, according to a news release.

The man told deputies that two black males forced their way through the back door of his house before hitting him and taking his wallet and other money.

Deputies say the suspects were described as wearing black clothing.

The victim sustained visible facial injuries but refused medical attention, the release said.
