A boy was bitten by a dog Tuesday afternoon while he rode a bicycle through his neighborhood.

When the boy rode past a house in the 100 block of Pine Forest Drive, a neighbor was opening the door to take two dogs for a walk, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report. One of the dogs, a 1-year-old English bulldog, ran at the child and bit him, the report said.

The dog's owner retrieved the animal, according to the Sheriff's Office. The boy's parent treated his minor injury and filed a report with the state Department of Health and Environmental Control.
