Southern Deanery of the Episcopal Church to host festival of lessons, carols

The eight churches and worshipping communities that comprise the Southern Deanery of the Episcopal Church in South Carolina will hold a Festival of Lessons and Carols at 5 p.m. Dec. 15 at St. Luke's Baptist Church, 3048 Snake Road, Okatie.

The festival includes seven Biblical readings and congregational hymns. There will also be two traditional carols, "This is the Truth Sent from Above" and "Hosanna to the Son of David" with a four-part singing by a joint choir from all the groups in the deanery.

The deanery includes: All Saints in Hampton, All Saints on Hilton Head Island, Christ Episcopal in Denmark, Heavenly Rest in Estill, Church of the Holy Communion in Allendale, St. Mark's in Port Royal, St. Phillip's in Vorhees College, and The Episcopal Church in Okatie.
