Hilton Head Island's Reilley Rankin

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Hilton Head Island's Reilley Rankin shot a five-round score of 70-73-70-71-72--356 in the LPGA Tour qualifying tournament this weekend at the LPGA International.

Rankin, 34, tied for 23rd, missing the cutoff (top 20) for Category 12 status on the LPGA Tour. Those players gain entry into every full-field event on the tour and hold that status all season.

Instead, Rankin, who led the University of Georgia to the 2001 NCAA championship, qualified for Category 17. Those 26 players will get a few opportunities to play in LPGA Tour events and will play mostly on the Symetra Tour. They will also be subject to midseason status shuffles by the LPGA.

Of last season's Category 17 golfers, just one made enough money to retain her card for the next season.

The other 22 players who made the 72-hole cut got Symetra Tour status.

Spain's Marta Silva, a 2008 graduate of Hilton Head Island's International Junior Golf Academy, shot 73-73-71-70-73--360 to finish Category 17, as well.

Jaye Marie Green was the runaway winner, finishing with a record 29-under 331 total for a 10-stroke margin.

The 19-year-old Green, from Boca Raton, closed with a 4-under 68 on the Jones Course. She broke the event 90-hole mark of 18-under 342 set by Stacy Lewis in 2008.

South Korea's Mi Rim Lee was second after a 69. Tiffany Joh finished third at 15 under after a 71.

Amy Anderson, the 21-year-old former North Dakota State star who won a record 20 college titles, was fourth at 14 under after a 69.
