North Forest Beach has enough beach access

info@islandpacket.comDecember 5, 2013

The recent letter to the editor, questioning the necessity of the debate over beach access on Avocet Street in North Forest Beach, has my support -- not as a resident of that area, but one based on common sense and neighborly love.

After reading about this dispute, I drove by the front of this location and walked by the beach side of it also. It is clearly visible that no additional beach access here is necessary, law or no law. I would like to see a letter to the editor from a nearby neighbor of the disputed spot who bears no grudge toward the homeowner, other than the access dispute, and who feels strongly inconvenienced by the lack of beach access. There are at least two other access points in place now. I am challenging this neighbor to make a logical case for additional access without using the argument that "a law is a law," no matter how unsound the law is.
