Bluffton Self Help keeps the lights on for local family

Jeff and Pamela just had their second baby, and Pamela was home on unpaid maternity leave from her part-time job.

Jeff was working extra hours to cover expenses.

Jeff started to feel extreme pain in his tooth and jaw. He stayed home from work for two days and then went for an emergency root canal. The family did not have dental insurance. Friends helped pay the dental office, but Jeff and Pamela couldn't afford their electric bill.

Bluffton Self Help paid the electric bill to keep their power on.

Bluffton Self Help provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, sick and elderly.
