The scene of a failed robbery at Parker's gas station.

Two men tried to rob a Bluffton gas station early Tuesday by crashing a van into the store.

Bluffton Police Department officers arrived at about 3:30 a.m. at Parker's on Evan Way off S.C. 170, where a white work van had struck the front of the building, according to a news release. Police believe the van might have been stolen from a heating and air company in Hardeeville, the release said.

Two men entered the front of the store and unsuccessfully tried to steal an ATM inside.

When they tried to drive away, they discovered the van was lodged into the store, according to the release. So they ran.

Police are searching for the suspects. Capt. Angela McCall-Tanner said officers are trying to determine if there is security footage of the incident.
