The Coastal Discovery Museum will host "Island Vibes," a free exhibit showcasing the colors and lifestyle of Hilton Head Island through quilts, from Dec. 9 through Feb. 28.

The quilts in the exhibit are not traditional; they are wall quilts presented by fabric artists.

There will be six discussions and demonstrations as part of the exhibit. The discussions will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 14, 21, and 29 and Feb. 5, 12 and 19. The exhibit and events are sponsored by the Palmetto Quilt Guild.

The museum, located at 70 Honey Horn Drive, Hilton Head, is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
