Wild Wing Cafe hosting national wing contest

info@islandpacket.comDecember 2, 2013

Wild Wing Cafe is hosting a national “"Battle of the Bones" competition. Beaufort County residents can submit their wing recipes for a chance to win a private party with Chef Rusty Hamlin, the executive chef of the Zac Brown Band and Southern Ground; a permanent spot on the Wild Wing Cafe menu; and $5,000.

Submissions can be filed online and are due Dec. 8. A bracket-style competition will begin Dec. 15. During the competition, diners at Wild Wing Cafe restaurants can taste Hamlin's signature wing recipe along with two competing wing entrants, then cast their vote. The winner will be announced on Superbowl Sunday. During the competition, the restaurant will donate $1 per each purchased wing plate to Camp Southern Ground, a youth summer camp.
