Deep Well helps with woman's electric bill

Matilda is 66 and receives $750 a month from Social Security.

She lives in a drafty, old house and is disabled by heart disease.

When she turned on her heat last winter, her monthly bill shot up to more than $500 because her heating system was malfunctioning. She paid to fix the heater, and The Deep Well Project was able to pay her past-due electric bill.

Deep Well provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
