Palmetto Dunes' George Fazio course hosted the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour's postseason tournament last weekend on Hilton Head Island, and local students Toks Pedro and Anita Uwadia captured the titles.

Pedro, a Junior Players Golf Academy and Hilton Head Preparatory School student, won the Boys 15-18 division with rounds of 72 and 70. His even-par 70 in a cold and windy final round was the lowest round of the tournament.

Bluffton's Bryson Nimmer finished second with a score of 72-74--146, and fellow JPGA student Trace Crowe was third at 76-75--151.

Uwadia, recently named HJGT Player of the Year, was the winner of the Girls 15-18 division. She finished with a score of 76-79--155. Bluffton's Kasidy Beckel made a big move in the final round to finish in second place, posting a score of 84-73--157.

The tournament was open to all junior golfers between the ages of 11-18.

Suki Brainard hit a hole-in-one Nov. 23 on the seventh hole at Moss Creek's North Course. She used a 7-iron. Witnesses were Marinell Altizer, Denise Johnson, and Linda Mayo.

Chuck Hess hit a hole-in-one Nov. 23 on the sixth hole at Argent Lakes Golf Club. He used a pitching wedge. Witnesses were John Kemp, Ron Marshalek, and Dave Spisso.
