Bloom at Belfair's Memory Care community

SUBMITTED

Bloom at Belfair, formerly called Riverside at Belfair and Belfair Gardens, recently received a distinguished award in the 2013 Senior Living by Design competition from the Assisted Living Federation of America. The award is for their Memory Care community, which features a "town square" with working "life skills stores" to represent Main Street America of the 1940s. The goal is to bring back long-term memories and ensure residents relate to familiar settings.

The awards honor architects, design firms and senior living providers for their innovative architecture in senior living communities. Applicants are judged on how their project supports quality care, and resident choice, independence and dignity. Bloom also recently named Jeffrey Eads its executive director.
