Shots fired into Burton home

Shots were fired into a Burton home Monday night, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies were called about 9 p.m. to 29 Alexander Loop, responding to a report of shots fired, a news release said.

Five people were inside the house when the shots were fired. None were injured in the shooting. The shots damaged exterior siding, walls and a glass door, the release said.

Residents reported seeing a black male in a white shirt running away from the house after the shooting.

No suspects have been identified, the release said.
