Since winning "American Idol" in May, St. Helena Island native Candice Glover has been busy performing at national events, touring with the other "Idol" finalists on "Idol's" 31-show summer tour, and recording her debut album, "Music Speaks."
On Nov. 25, Glover released her second single, "Cried," a soulful ballad full of her trademark vocal runs.
Last week, Glover turned 24. She also began recording the music video for "Cried," which will be her first.
"Cried" is available for digital download. Her debut album, "Music Speaks," originally scheduled to be released on July 16 of this year, was postponed twice and is now expected Feb. 18.
Glover's "Idol" coronation song and first single "I Am Beautiful" was released the day after she won. It reached No. 33 on the Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and No. 93 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Idol's" 13th season begins Jan. 15. Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr., will serve as judges. Former judge Randy Jackson will return to the show as the in-house mentor, replacing Jimmy Iovine.
