Political cartoon portrays false image

info@islandpacket.comNovember 22, 2013

The newspaper's Nov. 14 political cartoon depicting Republicans praying for President Obama's health care plan to fail and for people to lose their health insurance was biased and offensive. The newspaper needs to take into account that many of us are praying Republicans. We pray daily for those in authority, as instructed in the Bible in 1 Timothy 2:1&2, not for our president to fail "but in order that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." As a Republican, I am tired of the press maligning our party for standing up for the principles we believe. We are supposed to be a democracy by the people, not one party. We are being stereotyped and bullied by the press, and frankly, I'm not going to sit back and take it anymore.
