A Charlotte man received a traffic citation after a wreck Wednesday that injured him and two Hilton Head Island teenagers.

Elliot Nickles, 30, was pulling out of Windmill Harbour near Hilton Head Island about 8:30 p.m. when his Honda Accord hit a Jeep traveling east on U.S. 278, according to Sgt. Robin McIntosh of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The Jeep, driven by 17-year-old Patrick Capin, rolled several times into the median, Capt. Scott Johnson of the Sheriff's Office said. Capin and his passenger, his 14-year-old brother Joseph Capin, had to be removed from the vehicle, McIntosh said.

Patrick Capin was taken to a local hospital and was in good condition, Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Capt. Scott Johnson said Wednesday. Joseph Capin was flown to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston by a LifeStar Air Ambulance and was in good condition Thursday morning, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Nickles, cited Thursday for failure to yield the right of way, was also taken to the hospital and was in good condition, McIntosh said.
